Rose has been very curious about scrapbooking since she helped make cards at Christmas. (see story here) As any good crafter knows having the right supplies make a project go easier. So I took a few of the dolls to explore a scrapbooking and fabric store.
Rose was immediately drawn to the paper displays! So many pretty colors and patterns!!
“Rose! look this pattern matches your dress!” Debbie was very excited to think a paper could match a dress.
Soon Debbie wanted to move on to look at stamps. Rose said she wasn’t done looking at paper yet. Why didn’t Debbie go see what Emma was doing?
Emma had been looking around the store until she saw a book with cute pictures….
The books was a guide to quickutz…they were little cutouts. Emma thought they were adorable so she found a comfortable spot to sit and read it.
Debbie wasn’t interested in settling down and looking at one thing yet. There were too many things to explore!! Soon she and Rose moved on to look at the stamps.
“AWWW!!! look at this adorable bear on this card!!” Rose was enraptured over the cheerful looking card.
“What? Oh, yes that is very nice.” Debbie sounded distracted.
Rose looked up to see where Debbie was at. “Debbie!!!! what are you doing up there??” Rose was scandalized.
“What?”Debbie asked surprised. “Isn’t that what these clear steps are for? I thought they put them in so dolls could reach the high stuff. Just look at these cute puppy stamps!”
Rose was confused for a moment, she thought they were shelves….but maybe Debbie was right? She decided it was safer to move Debbie on towards the fabric section.
When Emma had finally finished her book she went looking for Bonnie and found her in the fabric section. Bonnie was not interested in scrapbooking so hadn’t wasted any time in heading straight for the fabric as soon as they entered the store.
Bonnie and Emma are being such good little shoppers. Do you supposed Debbie is acting like a normal shopper?
Welll…..
You see there was this display way up on a table….with reaaaallly pretty fabric. Debbie felt she just had to see! Being an industrious little doll she solved the problem.
“Push harder Rose!”
I don’t think Rose is balanced too well either. Be careful girls!!
Rose wasn’t entirely sure this was a good idea. But she was in this far, she was going all the way. Debbie gave her a hand up.
“You are almost there! Just a little further.” Debbie encouraged her.
Finally on top they settled down to look at the pretty things on display.
“Look at these fabric lollipops!” So adorable!” Rose was fascinated.
“Do you think Emily could make me a dress out of this fabric? or are the pieces too small?” wondered Debbie.
“Those are for quilts not dresses, Debbie.” Rose told her after looking to see what Debbie was looking at.
“Well, maybe Emily will make us a quilt then.” said Debbie.
Getting down from the table was much easier than going up. They just jumped. Pretending they hadn’t been up to anything, they joined Emma and Bonnie. Innocently they started looking at the bolts of fabric.
“Now this Emily could make dresses out of!” Rose informed Debbie.
Debbie thought that opened a world of exciting possibilities for all kinds of lovely dressed. She also discovered that jumping out from between bolts of fabric and yelling
“BOOO” ….also opened up fun possibilities of scaring people.
They were just getting ready to leave the store when Debbie spotted one more thing that needed investigation….
As they left all the dolls said thank you and goodbye to the friendly store staff.
“We had a Wendaful time!!!” Debbie called back over her shoulder as she took another bite of her candy bar.
Thank to Wendaful scrapbooks for letting us come!! www.wendafulscrapbooks.com
