Ruthie and Felicity had a big day planned. It involved black and white and spots……can you guess what it is?
When I got up this morning they were getting ready….
“How do I look Felicity?” asked Ruthie.
“MoooooooMoooo” teased Felicity.
“Do I really have to wear the mask? it smashes my curls!”
“If you don’t wear it we will have to paint your nose black” Felicity stated matter of factly. “Do you want to carry the sign or can I?”
“Mmm, you can wear it.” said Ruthie absentmindedly as she stared at her nose trying to decide if she wanted it painted or not. “I guess the mask would look better” she decided.
“Let me help you adjust it” Felicity offered.
“Ta-Da!” They said, as they turned around for me to get a picture of them all dressed up.
I had a feeling they didn’t want to wait until later in the day, so we all got in the truck and headed off to Chick-fil-A.
I offered to help but they wanted to order for themselves.
“Can we get a sandwich or is it too early for that?” inquired Felicity.
“You can get either breakfast menu items or lunch…but lunch will take a few more minutes to make.” replied the cashier.
Felicity decided she wanted the deluxe sandwich. Ruthie didn’t like cheese and tomatoes, so she just got the classic sandwich.
They thanked the cashier and hopped down to go get some condiments.
“Do we need spoons? forks? Straws?” asked Felicity.
“No we are just getting sandwiches. We just need some sauces.” replied Ruthie.
They waited back at the table for their order. “EAt more Chicken!!!” called Ruthie waving her flag. (They were swapping out who held the flag and it was Ruthie’s turn.)
Then the order came….oooo how exciting! They were so hungry! I asked them to look at me for a picture but they were distracted by the food….
Yummy!!
It isn’t polite to take pictures of people while they are eating, plus I was hungry too. So I got one more picture then I ate my sandwich too. We had a lovely time and look forward to Cow appreciation day next year!!
The cow outfits were made with vintage McCall’s doll pattern number 4401. The “Eat moRe Chikin” sign was made with Quirky girl embroidery font from Designs by Juju. The Cow masks were made using my Silhouette. I can post a tutorial for that if anyone is curious 🙂
Felicity and Ruthie want to know how many other people went to Cow Appreciation day? Let them know in the comments if you have!

My rugrats and I joined in the fun of cow appreciation day! We dressed in black and white and I made us cow tails! I thought it was going to be embarrassing but it actually turned out to be fun!

Your doll story and the comments made me smile 🙂 We all need more smiles and more chikin too.
Next year I’m getting me a tail like Olivia mentioned and maybe some paint for the nose Leanna mentioned. Your mask tutorial might just come in handy for next time?

Cow day is pretty fun! I did it for the first time last year and then again this year. It is fun to get creative for the outfit. I’ll work on making a tutorial for the masks 🙂

Love this post, it made me laugh out loud! The costumes are cute and I’m glad to see that the girl at the counter was willing to “play” along too.

Glad you liked it 😀 I was kind of nervous about asking to take that picture….but then the marketing manager for that chickfila saw my dolls and asked if she could get a picture 🙂 I asked to do a pic at the cash register, so she got someone to help me!

I loved it, it is nice to see that somebody agrees with the Eat More Chikin campaign. They do make the best chicken sandwich. Loved the creativity
