The Dolls were able to get more lights to solve their light problem.
Lights all on…check!
It was time to hang the ornaments. All hands on deck! Many hands make light work. (Orrrr sometimes they make a mess! In this case, they made everything go faster.)
Debbie pulled out the cutest one she saw! She just loved gingerbread men….except it made her hungry….
Lea loved the simple shiny balls in all the lovely colors.
“Are you okay ? Can you reach the tree? Should I push the ladder closer?” Ruthie asked Ellen. Ellen had crawled between the steps. It was the only way to reach the perfect spot for this particular ornament.
“I’m okay, I just need to stretch a little more.” Ellen said in a slightly muffled voice as she strained to reach the branch.
“OooOOoo! Look at this one!” Maryellen called to Josefina. She help up a clear ball with sparkling shimmering snowflakes on it.
Josefina was hanging up a small red glass ornament. She turned to look at what Maryellen had found. “Oh yes! That is one of my favorites! Emily has a set of them, so there should be more like that in there. Just be careful not to hang them too close together.”
“Susan, do you want to hang this one up for me?” Elizabeth called holding up a red ornament. Elizabeth said she wanted to just unwrap the ornament…it would go faster if some hung ornaments and some unwrapped them.
“Can someone pass it to me?” asked Susan. She had just climbed up and was hoping to save herself the climb down and back up again.
“I’ll get it for you,” replied Lanie.
“Can someone tell me if this ornament is hanging straight?” Bridget called down. She had climbed on the actual tree itself to hang ornaments at the top. “It is so long, I’m not sure if it looks right there.”
Nellie was standing right below her. She looked up and squinted, shifting her head from side to side to watch the lights dance.”It looks good from this angle!” she called up to Bridget.
Lanie and Bonnie found another box of ornaments to open.
“Do you think we should use any of these bundles?” asked Bonnie.
“Lanie, do you have another one to hand me yet?” Susan asked.
“Hmm, I don’t know. They have never been opened, so maybe Emily doesn’t use them. Yes, Susan just a minute and I’ll get you one.” Lanie replied.
Josefina heard them and said “no” Emily didn’t use those bundled ornaments on this tree. She got them on clearance and apparently were intended for “Someday”.
With so many dolls working, naturally it didn’t take very long to hang all the ornaments.
How many dolls do you see?
Here are a few of some of my favorite ornaments on this tree….which do you like better elegant ornaments or cute ones?
And then, of course, there are the ornaments that may not be the cutest, and may not be the most elegant…but they have memories attached. I have quite a few of those (well actually most ornaments have a memory attached), but the ornaments I have had the longest go on another tree.

I think I like the cute ones best. Probably, because I tend to think of Christmas decorations to please youngsters.
