The Dolls have decided to regularly check the mailbox. They explained to me that “you never can tell what might be there. Or who you might get a letter from!” Today it was Samantha’s turn to check for mail…..

Samantha is checking for mail!- 18" doll adventures by Stitching with Elli

She opened the mailbox with the “hold your breath anticipation” you get when you are checking your mail. Hoping for a personal letter instead of credit card offers or advertisements. She was not disappointed today! There was a letter and it was addressed to her!!

She ran all the way back to the house and went looking for someone to tell about her letter. The first ones she saw were Ruthie and Felicity.

Felicity was telling Ruthie all about the book she read recently. It was filled with exciting things like “snow” and “gold” and a “Klondike”  and something else called “Chilkoot Pass”(Ruthie wasn’t positive what the last things were, but Felicity seemed to think they were exciting. She would have to ask Felicity to explain better.  Whenever Felicity paused her headlong explanation and took a breath.)

“Felicity!!! Ruthie!!” cried Samantha excitedly. “Guess what I have!!”

“What!?” asked Ruthie.

“Is it a treasure map!?!??!” Felicity guessed excitedly.

” No, no, not a treasure map…It’s a letter from my friends Emma and Marie!” Samantha told them.

“Climb up here and lets read it together!” chorused Ruthie and Felicity.

Samantha climbed. They settled in to read the letter. “yay! there are pictures too! exclaimed Samantha as she opened it and the pictures tumbled out.

Here is what it said plus the pictures that were included.

“Dear Samantha,

Hi, I sent this to tell you about all the exciting things we have done this week. We climbed hay bales a couple days ago. Marie needed a little help getting up.

We had to help the twins up too.

When we got up, I fell and did a split. It hurt and I went inside the rest of the day. But I did go back out to watch the beautiful sunset with Marie.

Marie and I got signed up for ballet, but the day before the recital I hurt my leg! Marie told the ballet teacher how much I wanted to be in the play and guess what!? she let me be in the play!!

Yesterday we got a new car. It was very dirty so we had to wash it.

After we were done washing, it looked very shiny.

Well this is the end of the letter. Goodbye for now. Hope you have had some fun adventures.

Sinserly,

Emma and Marie

Samantha, Ruthie and Felicity thought it was a wonderful letter. They started talking about when they might be able to climb a hay bale themselves! Emma and Marie made it look so easy! Felicity was also very curious to know where Emma and Marie got the car….a car looked terribly exciting. She was imagining speeding around and driving all over. When Ruthie pointed out that speeding wasn’t safe, Felicity said she just said “speeding” because it would be so much faster than walking….not that she was actually going to speed. 😉
